Dave Stevens (1955 - 2008) was an American illustrator and comic book artist. Best known for creating the comic book Rocketeer, and its Pin-Up works, especially model Bettie Page. Dave Stevens was born July 29, 1955, in Lynwood, California, but grew up in Portland, Oregon. His family moved to San Diego, where he enrolled at the City University of San Diego. His first professional work in comics was that he was passing the pencil Russ Manning ink for newspaper comic Tarzan (Tarzan) and two European graphic novels Tarzan (Tarzan) in 1975. In 1982 he released the first comic book featuring distinctive style of Dave Stevens - it was Rocketeer. These stories first appeared as a backup. Later take an active part in the development of the comic book. Recent years have been in the fight against likemiey. Died March 11, 2008 in Turlock, California.
